Resources

Here are some of my favorite places on the web for music related goodness, I’ll keep this updated as I find more worth sharing:

Run by the good folks at South by Southwest, this daily roundup of top music related articles on the net is an invaluable source for staying up to date.

Wolfgang’s Vault/Concert Vault

http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/concerts/

This is just about my favorite place on the internet. Based around Bill Graham’s extensive archives, this is an amazing online resource for vintage concert posters and memorabilia as well as streaming and downloading vintage concert audio and visual. They just switched over to a fee-based model but trust me, the $50 a year is more than worth it for access to this treasure trove.

Little Steven’s Underground Garage

http://undergroundgarage.com/

Steven Van Zandt is a lot of things – longtime guitar player in the E Street Band, actor on The Sopranos and Lilyhammer, producer, songwriter, activist and the list goes on. Luckily for all of us, he’s also a killer radio DJ. His shows are an eclectic mix of deep cuts, new bands, random thoughts, and classic tracks. And the archive of his 600+ shows is available for streaming through this site. Not to be missed, even the most hardcore music junkie will learn something from listening to the Garage.

Rock’s Back Pages

http://www.rocksbackpages.com/

This really is the online library of rock writing. They have everything. Most of their content is for paying subscribers only but they always have new offerings in their Free on RBP section. Great stuff.

Morrison Hotel Gallery

http://www.morrisonhotelgallery.com/

This gallery, dedicated to the work of rock photographers, has almost all of its collection digitized for hours of viewing pleasure, and wistful dreaming of the day you can afford to buy an actual print. If you’re ever near one of their locations in NYC or California I highly recommend stopping in – I had the insane privilege of running into the legendary Henry Diltz at their SoHo gallery!
