happy birthday george
February 25, 2011
Today George Harrison should be celebrating his 68th birthday. Instead, this year marks a decade since his tragic passing.
In 2002, a year after his death, the Concert for George was staged at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Featuring performances by the likes of Eric Clapton, Anoushka Shankar, Billy Preston, Traveling Wilburys bandmates Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty, and surviving Beatles Paul and Ringo, the concert was a celebration of his life and a fitting tribute to his enduring musical legacy. And today only, in honor of George’s birthday you can stream the entire concert for free.
Thank you for the music George. You are missed more than you could ever know.
