February 3, 2010
Today is the 51st Anniversary of the plane crash that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. Richardson “The Big Bopper.” I don’t have much to say about it, I’d just like to pause in remembrance.
Read music historian Greil Marcus’ Rolling Stone article written last year, on the 50th Anniversary.

“Come On, Let’s Go” Ritchie Valens
“Chantilly Lace” The Big Bopper
“Not Fade Away” Buddy Holly
And of course, Don McLean’s well known memorial ballad “American Pie”
